Аспирантура в США (вычислительная биология / биоинформатика)

Друзья, есть открытая позиция в американскую аспирантуру по специальности вычислительная биология / биоинформатика. Если есть вопросы, присылайте их по адрессу korkin(at)

PhD position in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

А PhD position in Bioinformatics is available in the Informatics Institute jointly with Computer Science Department of the University of Missouri, Columbia. Topics include but not limited to structural bioinformatics of protein assemblies, host-pathogen interactions, and structural evolution of biological systems. An example of the research project is studying structural mimicry in host-pathogen protein interactions, an elegant mechanism used by pathogens to alter the host's functions. The research projects are multidisciplinary and will involve developing new computational and theoretical methods as well as applying those methods to specific biological systems in collaboration with the experimental groups. The research interests of our group are in the areas of computational biology, structural bioinformatics, machine learning, and pattern recognition.

Candidates selected for the doctoral position will be enrolled under the new PhD Program in Biomedical Informatics. Successful candidates are expected to have a solid background in mathematics/computational sciences and bioinformatics, or a background in biological sciences with a significant quantitative or computational component. Interested candidates should e-mail their CV and a short statement of research interests to Dmitry Korkin via email: korkin(at) The applicants should also include their GRE and TOEFL scores, since those are required by the Graduate School. Application deadline is March 1, 2008, however applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
